Alpine meetings
Ibex and Aiguilles d'Arves
I had hoped for this photo on the way up, it was eventually on the way down that the ibex positionned itself as desired.
Lost in snow and cold
The first snowfall was sudden as well as consequent. It led chamois and alpine ibexes to congregate like if they were lost in these snow and cold.
Hope
Getting comfortable for the sunset, I was hoping that the alpine ibex I saw before would come on this ridge. My wish became reality.
Alpine ibex with autumn colours
When summer is over, cowd leaves progressively the mountains and animals, like this alpine ibex, take their course.
Dancer at the top
Here is a very rare species, so rare that I could observe it once only. But the conditions for a nice picture were combined.
Alpine ibex and autumn colors
Autumn is a magnificient season not only because of the colors, but also because alpine ibex are more curious. It is then not rare to see them.
Young Chamois
Can you see its umbilical cord ? This chamois is very very young. Less than one week maybe.
Old male
In the Massif de Belledonne, searching a little bit, one may find old males very photogenic.
Alpine Ibexes and Mont-Aiguille
Alpine ibexes are plentiful in the Massif du Vercors. It is easy to see them.
Alpine ibex on the ridge
Kind of a wild goat, the alpine ibex lives in the mountains all around Grenoble. It can be seen easily in the Massif du Vercors.
