The Drus 3,754 m (12,316 ft)
The Drus is a legendary mountain of the Massif du Mont-Blanc. It overlooks both the Chamonix valley and the glacier Mer de Glace. In summertime, one can observe paragliders flying around it.

What could be more jubilant than contempling the last sunset of the year from such a viewpoint !
L'Aiguille du Midi
With an elevation of 3,842 m (12,605 ft), the Aiguille du Midi is the cable car summit of the Téléphérique de l'Aiguille du Midi. It is overbusy all year long.
On the Plateau d'Emparis
With an elevation of 3,984 m (13,071 ft), La Meije is the second highest mountain of the Massif des Écrins. The best place to contemplate it is definitely the Plateau d'Emparis. The view of this sharp peak is just awesome.
Sunrise behind the Aiguilles d'Arves
In the automn, from the Quirlies lake, one can see the sunrise just behind the Aiguilles d'Arves. That is just the perfect place to watch it.
Very small
Can you see these very small mountaineers in front of the Dent du Géant 4,013 m (13,166 ft) ? The Massif du Mont-Blanc is a place where everything is oversized.
Sunset behind the Grand Galibier
The Grand Galibier 3,228 m (10,591 ft) is the highest mountain of the Massif des Cerces. In summertime, from the Col du Chardonnet Nord, the sun sets just behind it.
From the road to the Col du Lautaret
Another legendary mountain of the Massif des Écrins, Le Rateau overlooks the road to the Col du Lautaret.
La Meije
La Meije is a very famous summit of the Massif des Écrins. With an elevation of 3,984 m (13,071 ft), it is sought-after by the mountaineers.
Destination Dôme des Écrins
At that moment, the weather was bad. Bad enough not to imagine that the day after we could climb the Dôme des Écrins 4,009m (13,152 ft). Unfortunately, the summit cannot be seen here. It is actually hidden by the clouds. But it is just below the Barre des Écrins, on the very right of the picture.
Cloudy skies in the Dévoluy
The cloudy skies give a special atmosphere to these snowy mountains. The weather was becoming so bad that we faced difficulties to get back to the car. Indeed, a sudden snow storm prevented us from easily finding our way.
Sharp peaks
From the Plan de l'Aiguille, above Chamonix, so many sharp peaks can be seen: the Aiguille du M, the Aiguille du Midi as well as the Mont-Blanc.
